“Universal On Switch” by Govinda is an sexy, exotic, musical masterpiece. “Universal On Switch” starts out slow with some heavy middle-eastern vibes and then morphs into a much different monster featuring some wobbles, laser effects, and a lot of fader work. This track is weird, but in the best of ways.
You need to listen to this entire track to really get the best experience out of it; Govinda has featured such a wide array of electronic music styles your interests is sure to stay peaked.
The Polish Ambassador just dropped this bundle of goodness on us. It’s a brand new remix of “Your Hand In Mine” by Explosions in the Sky! Always love TPA’s tunes and his live shows are not to be missed, he always throws a straight up dance party.
Just stumbled upon this artist i’ve never heard of, TYR. Started listening and i’m honestly digging some of his songs and remixes. Start taking a closer look into TYR, and find out that he’s only 18! WTF? Another teenage prodigy making me feel lame as shit.
“TYR (Old Norse: Týr [tyːr]) is the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory in Norse mythology. (Pronounced the same as ‘tire’)
TYR aka Grant Redmond is an 18 year old up and coming producer from Las Vegas, who recently relocated to Boulder, Colorado, one of the major “hot beds” of electronic music. ”
Here are a couple of his songs I really enjoyed for you to try out. If you like his style follow the link to his SOUNDCLOUD to download the rest of his songs.
Moby – Flower (TYR Remix)
Kimbra – Settle Down (TYR & Rodway Remix)
TYR – Hard Times
Typically, I don’t like featuring posts around music videos. Today is different. C2C recently released the music video for their feel good track “The Beat.” For those of you who don’t know, C2C is a world class DJ quartet that have dominated a large handful of international DJ competitions. “The Beat” a song of epic proportions, but the video is just plain legendary. Two minutes of a black and white color schemed graphics specked with the occasional nonintrusive color make this video a minimalist masterpiece. “The Beat” is off of the Down the Road EP released by C2Cearlier this year.
Check out the video (HINT: watch it in full screen) above and don’t feel ashamed of you need to break out and dance to this track.
You can buy C2C music on iTunes here.

Get ready for “Rocksteady.” A fast tempo and melodic synth line (with a late cowbell addition) makes “Rocksteady” by the Bloody Beetroots an instant winner in my book. Just bump it…
You can pick “Rocksteady” up on iTunes here.
Sometimes digging through the hundreds of spam emails in my inbox pays off. I discovered this gem amongst the onslaught advertisements and scam emails and was immediately blown away on how smooth and just plain groovy this track is. Kill Paris is a music producer from Los Angeles and is, apparently, blowing up big time. With cool, original sounding tracks such as “I Wanna Be Your Lover” it’s easy to see why. In addition to highlighting “I Wanna Be Your Lover” I’ve included a set that Kill Paris put together highlighting all of the tracks he’s released for free download. Check the dude out at his Facebook page to get more info about this up and coming music act.

The day has changed. The weather has pulled a complete 180 since my morning post; the sun is blazing and the skies are blue. I think it’s only appropriate to post some complimentary music to honor this glorious change in meteorological conditions.
The boys from Aer have released another extremely catchy, super chill, summertime jam that will get you in the mood for the beach, beers, and probably a excessively rotund J or two. “Floats my Boat” capitalizes on far more than one of my favorite idioms, in fact, the Sublime/Slightly Stoopid-esq Long Beach dub style of music falls right into one of my most long lived musical comfort zones.
Aer is set to release their album later this year, until then you can stream the track below or download it from iTunes.
It’s a cool, dark, and rainy day here in the Northeast. Occasional bouts of thunder interrupt the persistent patter of rain. It’s days like these where being confined to an office, classroom, or, in my case, a home on the mend, isn’t so bad.
It’s easy to find tracks that compliment the bright, warm, sun soaked days of summer. Upbeat hip hop, relentless bangers, and virtually any other type of music can work on a fair weather day. Finding the perfect song to remove the dreariness and fright from a persistant thunderstorm presents a challenge. After all, how can you make something bad seem good? The benefit I have here is that I am armed with music, a weapon that is dangerously effective at altering moods and changing perception.
I stumbled upon the perfectly titled track “Downpour” by Forekast; I’ll avoid any play-on-words here. Forekast has really created a rainy day masterpiece here. There is no doubt my love for “Downpour” is amplified by looking out my window at grey skies and rainclouds.
If you are sharing this shitty weather with me than you might as well make the best of it. Download Forekast‘s magic below and start feeling the mellow, super relaxing vibes. If you’re elsewhere where the weather is fine – there’s no doubt you will still be able to enjoy “Downpour” as well.
For me, Dubstep has peaked and now I’m slowly becoming disinterested in the genre. That said, I can still appreciate monster, melodic, bass heavy dubstep tracks such as Adventure Club‘s most recent release “Need Your Heart.” This track has some massive drops, but mixed with those moments of mayhem is a melodic element (thanks to Kai) that reigns in the track as a whole and keeps me interested. Adventure Club has really ton a stellar job.
You can download the track for free by clicking the “free download” link in the soundcloud stream below. You will be redirected to Adventure Club‘s facebook page which also has “Rise and Fall” ft Krewella for free download. I HIGHLY suggest checking out the various remixes of “Rise and Fall” that Adventure Club has posted for free download; most of them are rock solid.
The Softer Sundays series will be returning soon.. but until then…
