Chip Tha Ripper – Tell Ya Friends Mixtape| Sick New Hip Hop

Ohhhh shit… if it isn’t Mr. Raspy himself: Chip Tha Ripper. Chip Tha Ripper just released a new mixtape called Tell Ya Friends. Tell Ya Friends is not to be confused with your average low budget 10-minute-production mixtape; every track was produced by a different dude and believe me there’s some quality names involved.

So check it out… I’m not going to post the entire album because.. well I want to give you the best of the best. That said, you will find a link to download the entire album in this post. I will say this: the tracks that are ON in this mixtape are straight up LEGIT – the others are just average. My favorite is “Boomshakalaka,” it has some sick low end energy and will make a strong addition to my skiing playlist. “25 Wives” is a complete 180 from “Boomshakalaka”, but its got some super chill vibes that you all are going to serious dig.

I never thought I’d say I like an Asher Roth track… Perhaps it was because Asher broke the affluent white college-kid rapper mold, or perhaps his earlier work wasn’t up to the caliber it is at now… I just wasn’t a fan of him. The game has changed; I like this track – I like it a lot.

Yeah, it has Chip tha Ripper who we love here at PTSL… yeah it’s got a good beat… but I really dig Roth’s verse… what is happening to this world???

Anyways – this track is pretty sick – give it a listen.

I like this guys sound; and his name – his sound actually reminds me of Kid Cudi; he has a similar throaty, semi-raspy voice. Chip comes from Cleveland, and he’s proud of it as can be heard in his several references to the Cavs. Kid Cudi also comes from Cleveland, which explains why Chip and Kudi have collaborated on several songs. This stuff is fire, this guy will be big soon… bump it.
